Last week I photographed the wedding of Geraldine and John at All Saints Church Carshalton and their reception at The Bluebell Railway. I set off early for the bridal preparations at Geraldine’s parents house in Sutton, and once these were done I headed on to the church. Due to the parking restrictions at East Grinstead, I left my car around the corner from the church for the rest of the day. All Saints has to be one of the most stunning church interiors I have seen in a very long time, beautiful architecture, features and colours, oh and plenty of light to work with too. After the ceremony we headed outside for some groups, it was a fairly intimate wedding with close family and friends, but there were still plenty of different combinations to do. Opposite the church is a lovely lake and bridge, so we popped over there for the couple portraits before boarding the bus for the trip down to East Grinstead train station. Luckily the bus was following the wedding car as it unfortunately broke down ahead of us, so we were able to pull up an pick up Geraldine and John for the rest of the journey. I think Geraldine wanted a ride on the bus, so it wasn’t all bad! Once at the station we gathered all the guests for a group photo before getting on the train. The main course was served on route to Sheffield Park station, where the speeches and cake cutting took place. We then boarded the train back to East Grinstead for the dessert, coffee and the trip back to Sutton.
