Welcome to my website. My name is Kevin Watkins, and yes the picture below is actually me with my first propper camera! Now at the ripe old age of 45, I'm happily married with Dee, who is a floristry teacher. We have two fabulous teenagers, Ben who is seventeen and Aimee who is thirteen along with a cat called Marbles! We live in the small but getting bigger all the time village of Yapton, situated between Arundel, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.
I was introduced to photography at a young age by my Dad, also keen photographer who took the photo above. We spent many days out shooting together over the years and still do when we can. At just fifteen I managed to gain a work experience position at a local wedding and portrait photography studio in Bognor Regis, and having spent a week or so with them I was offered a permanent position when I left school. I spent a couple of years with them, covering all aspects from weddings and portraits to commercial and social events. I then studied at Northbrook College in Worthing to gain the City & Guilds certificate in professional photography before moving on to different studio specialising in commercial and industrial photography. After spending another couple of years there and gaining a vast experience in medium and large format film photography, I felt it was time to go it alone. Initially shooting weddings at the weekends, I progressed to become a full time professional wedding photographer in 2001.
The industry has changed dramatically in this time, not just in the equipment we use but clients preferring more informal, natural, candid and documentary wedding photography. There are many new faces in the industry these days, but I feel that my vast experience, not only in traditional methods but in the latest digital imaging and processing techniques, allows me to offer the perfect blend of both modern and traditional styles. Wedding photography is my passion, my speciality and so much more than just a job. I truly enjoy every wedding as much as the couple themselves and give absolutely 100% to each and every one of them.
