My name is Kevin Watkins and I am a full time professional wedding photographer based in West Sussex. With over twenty years of dedicated experience in wedding photography, I offer the perfect blend of both modern and traditional styles.
At the ripe old age of 41, I am happily married with two young children, Ben who is fourteen and Aimee who is ten. We live in a little village called Yapton, situated between Arundel, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton in West Sussex. I have always loved photography, so naturally it was my first career choice. At just fifteen I managed to gain a work experience position at a local wedding and portrait studio in Bognor Regis, and having spent a week or so with them I was offered a permanent position when I left school. I spent a couple of years with them, covering all aspects from weddings and portraits to commercial and social events. I then studied at Northbrook College in Worthing to gain the City & Guilds certificate in professional photography before moving on to another studio specialising in commercial and industrial photography. After spending another couple of years there and gaining a vast experience in medium and large format, I felt it was time to go it alone. Initially shooting weddings at the weekends before going full time back in 2001.
The industry has changed dramatically in this time, not just in the equipment we use but clients preferring the more informal style of social photography. There are many new faces in the business these days, but I feel that my vast experience, not only in traditional methods but in the latest digital imaging and processing techniques allows me to offer the perfect blend of both modern and traditional styles.
Wedding photography is my passion, my speciality and so much more than just a job. I truly enjoy every wedding as much as the couple themselves and give absolutely 110% to each and every one of them. I strongly believe that a wedding should be photographed without compromise, I have a wealth of experience and the latest professional equipment and products to capture your precious memories. I am recommended by some of the most exclusive wedding venues in Sussex including Amberley Castle, Bailiffscourt and Upwaltham Barns to name just a few. I am more than happy to photograph civil partnerships and have a separate area of the website devoted to specifically to civil partnership photography.
Please enjoy browsing my website which I have designed to be fast loading and highly informative. You can be assured that there are no fabricated galleries of friends or models here, just real weddings. If you have any questions regarding my services please feel free to get in touch, I would love to speak to you.
Here is a complete wedding taken at The Lythe Hill Hotel, Haslemere in Surrey. As well as this you can also view many of my recent real weddings online. Many photographers will hide behind galleries of their best ever shots, or even display images taken on training days which I believe is very misleading. To see some of my real weddings click here.

Frequently Asked Questions…
How long have you been a photographer?
Well I started taking serious photographs at around the age of ten or so. At just fifteen I worked as a photographers assistant at a photographic portrait studio in Bognor Regis, initially on Saturdays before going full time at sixteen. I shot my first wedding as a self employed photographer at the age of just nineteen, so well over 20 years now. I also photographed family portraits, both studio and location before then too.
How come your prices are so reasonable compared to others?
This may sound crazy, but I prefer to photograph more weddings for a little less and to keep nice and busy. I would rather do one wedding every week, than one every month because it keeps me fresh and on the ball. I thoroughly enjoy my role as a wedding photographer, I think of my clients as friends and don’t believe in ripping them off! I charge what I believe to be a fair price for the amount of work involved.
What equipment do you use?
Although I believe photography isn’t all about the camera, I do use what I consider to be the best available equipment for the job. I currently use Canon 5D MarkIII cameras and a range of fast prime and zoom lenses. This set up is probably the most common among top end professional wedding photographers and portrait photographers at the moment.
Do you have back up equipment?
Absolutely, I carry enough equipment to cover almost any eventuality.
How much time do you spend on each wedding?
Well depending on package anything from 3 days to 5 days per wedding. This includes general administration, pre wedding meeting and or correspondence, travel time, equipment preparation, the wedding day itself, back ups & archiving, editing, post production, web gallery and DVD production, print ordering, album design, proofing, production, delivery and more…
Are you insured?
Yes I am insured for public liability.
What will you wear at our wedding?
I will wear a suit, as I feel it is very important to be smart.
What if you are ill?
I would have to break both legs not to turn up! I love my job and am completely dedicated to my business. I have never been unable to attend a wedding in over 20 years, however I have a network of photographers I could call upon to help out in an emergency.
Do we get all of the images?
You will get all of the images after editing and digital processing, so there will be no ‘blinks or sneezes’ in there, just fabulous images you will treasure forever.
Do we receive prints or is it just the DVD?
The Gold and Silver packages both include 100 prints of your choice in 9×6 inches.
Do you require feeding on the day?
Not at all, I always bring my own refreshments, however if there is the offer of a bite to eat I won’t say no!
Can we have black & white and colour photos?
Yes, I usually do a mixture of each. If you want more or less black & white or colour effects just let me know before the wedding. I will also shoot weddings completely in black & white or colour if you wish.
Is there a pre wedding session or engagement shoot?
Yes, you have the option of a pre wedding shoot which can be added to your wedding photography package. Many photographers will include this with their wedding photography which will appear to be a good deal, however they will then use it as an opportunity to hard sell you prints at often extortionate prices. My pre wedding shoot on the other hand includes all of the processed images on CD, so you are free to make your own prints or ‘save the date’ cards etc.
What and when do we pay?
There is a booking fee of £250 which is required to secure the date, the remainder of your chosen package is then due two weeks before the wedding. So if you book my popular ‘Gold’ package at £1450 which includes all day attendance, your images on DVD, 100 9×6 professional prints of your choice, online gallery & ‘Storybook’ wedding album. You would pay the booking fee of £250 when you book, then £1200 two weeks before the big day.
Can we pay by Credit or Debit card?
Yes, you can pay by cash, cheque, direct bank transfer, credit or debit card. There are no additional fee’s for using a credit card to pay for your wedding photography. Some couples like to pay instalments which is absolutely fine provided the full balance is paid 14 days before the wedding.
How many photographs will we get and how big can we print them?
You will receive over 400 images, the average being around 600 and you can print them up to 12×8 inches. If you know what you are doing you can print them much larger, but I would ask that you contact me for instructions on how to get the best image quality. I also ask that you use a decent lab and ensure that no automatic adjustments are made to the files. Click here to download an example of the provided image size.
This all sounds great, can we book you for our wedding?
Absolutely, just as long as I am available on your date! Once you have checked my availability you can book your wedding here I also advise we meet at some point before the wedding to run through the details, this can be before or after you have secured the date. I am happy to come to you or meet with you at your wedding venue.
